How to Type the Euro Symbol?

The “Euro” symbol is presently the official currency of 19 countries out of the 27 member countries of the European Union (EU). The official symbol of Euro is based on and similar to the Greek letter epsilon.

There are different ways to type the symbol and it depends on whether we use a desktop device or a mobile phone. To type the Euro symbol, follow these steps:

Determine which keyboard layout you are using. If you use a US keyboard, the Euro symbol is not on the main keyboard. However, the Euro symbol may be on the main keyboard if you use a European keyboard.

If the Euro symbol is not on your main keyboard, you can use a keyboard shortcut to type it. On a Windows computer, hold down the Alt key and type 0128 on the numeric keypad (not the regular number keys). On a Mac device, hold down the Option key and press the 2 key.

If you are using a European keyboard, the Euro symbol should be located on the main keyboard. It is usually located to the right of the 0 key, or it may be located on the same key as the Dollar symbol.

If you are using a mobile device, you may need to use a different method to type the Euro symbol. On an iOS device, you can press and hold the Dollar symbol on the keyboard to access a list of other currency symbols, including the Euro. In case of an Android device, you may switch to a different keyboard layout or use a special app to type the Euro symbol.
