Track Progression with Qlik Sense Line Charts
Line charts are a type of chart that is used to display data over time or other continuous variable. They consist of a series of data points connected by straight lines, and are often used to show trends or patterns in the data.
In Qlik Sense, line charts are available as a visualization type in the chart options. Making a line graph with Qlik Sense, follow these steps:
- Open the Qlik Sense app and navigate to the sheet where you want to add the line chart.
- From the toolbar, select the “New Object” button.
- In the “Add Object” window, select the “Chart” option.
- From the chart options, choose the “Line” chart type.
- Drag and drop the desired measure and dimension fields onto the “Measures” and “Dimensions” boxes.
- Customize the chart by selecting the “Properties” tab and adjusting the various options available, such as the appearance of the lines and the labels.
- Once you have finished configuring the chart, click the “Apply and Close” button to add the chart to the sheet.
It’s also possible to create a line chart using the Qlik Sense extension library. Extensions are custom visualizations that can be added to Qlik Sense to provide additional chart types or other functionality. To use an extension to create a line chart, you will need to install the extension and then follow the extension’s specific instructions for creating and customizing the chart.
A line chart that represents data as a series of points connected by lines, where the position of each point on the y-axis represents the value of the data for a specific point in time or along a continuous scale. In Qlik Sense, you can create line charts to display and explore data over time, including single and multiple dimension line charts.
To draw a line chart in Qlik Sense, follow these steps:
- Load your data into Qlik Sense
- Create a new line chart visualization
- Drag the dimensions and measures you want to display to the line chart
- In the Properties panel, you can adjust the color scheme, labels, and other visual elements
Line charts are useful for exploring data over time, and they are especially useful for showing trends and patterns in the data. When creating line charts, it’s important to consider the axis labels and choose a color scheme that makes it easy to understand the data.
In Qlik Sense, you can also create stacked line charts, which are similar to line charts but with multiple dimensions stacked on top of each other, and cumulative line charts, which display the cumulative total of the data over time.
