QlikView Documents with Properties

In QlikView, a document is a file that contains a data model, objects, and visualizations. A QlikView document can have properties, which are settings that define the behavior and appearance of the document.

To see and edit the variables of a QlikView document, select the “Properties” option from the “File” menu. This will open the “Document Properties” window, which allows you to view and edit the properties of the document.

Some examples of properties that can be set for a QlikView document include:

  1. Title: The title of the document, which is displayed in the title bar of the application.
  2. Subtitle: The subtitle of the document, which is displayed below the title in the title bar of the application.
  3. Default font: The default font that is used for objects and charts in the document.
  4. Default color palette: The default color palette that is used for objects and charts in the document.
  5. Data model: The data model that is used by the document, including the data sources and data fields that are included in the model.

A QlikView document (also known as a QlikView app) is a collection of data and visualizations that can be used to analyze and explore data. Each QlikView document has properties that can be used to customize and control its behavior. Some of the variables that can be set for a QlikView document include:

  • General Properties: These properties control the overall behavior of the document, such as the document title, the default sheet, and the default font.
  • Data Properties: These properties control the behavior of the data in the document, such as the data connection, the data model, and the data security.
  • Sheet Properties: These properties control the behavior of the sheets in the document, such as the layout, the background color, and the object properties.

  • Security Properties: These properties control the access to the document, such as the user authentication, the section access, and the user privileges.
  • Distribution Properties: These properties control the distribution of the document, such as the document location, the document compression, and the document size.

Each of these properties can be accessed and modified through the Document Properties dialog box, which can be accessed by going to File > Document Properties or by right-clicking on the document and selecting Properties.

Additionally, once the document is open, you can access the properties of each sheet by right-clicking on the sheet and selecting Properties, or through the Sheet Properties dialog box.
