QlikView List & Multi Boxes
In QlikView, a List Box and a Multi Box are both types of user interface objects that allow users to select one or more values from a list of options. The main difference between the two is the number of selections that can be made:
- List Box: A List Box allows users to select a single value from a list of options. It is commonly used to filter data in a QlikView document. When a user selects a value from a List Box, the data in other parts of the document will be filtered based on the selected value.
- Multi Box: A Multi Box allows users to select multiple values from a list of options. It is commonly used to filter data in a QlikView document when multiple selections are needed. When a user selects multiple values from a Multi Box, the data in other parts of the document will be filtered based on the selected values.
Both List Box and Multi Box can be created in the QlikView developer by dragging and dropping the object from the objects pane or by creating it from the Insert menu, then they can be configured to display the desired field and can be connected to other fields to filter data.
List Boxes and Multi Boxes can also be customized in terms of appearance and behavior using the Properties dialog box. For example, you can change the font, color, and layout of the object, or set up conditional formatting to change the appearance of the object based on the data.
In summary, List Boxes and Multi Boxes are both types of user interface objects in QlikView that allow users to select one or more values from a list of options. The main difference between the two is that List Box allows users to select a single value from a list of options, while Multi Box allows users to select multiple values from a list of options. They can be created, customized and connected to other fields to filter data in the QlikView developer.
