QlikView Server Load Sharing

QlikView Server Load Sharing is a feature of the QlikView Business Intelligence (BI) platform that allows multiple QlikView Servers to work together to distribute the load of processing and serving QlikView documents to users within an organization. This can help to improve the performance and scalability of the QlikView Server environment by allowing it to handle more users and larger volumes of data.

To set up QlikView Server Load Sharing, multiple QlikView Servers are configured to work together as a cluster. When a user requests a QlikView document, the request is routed to one of the servers in the cluster, which processes and serves the document to the user. If the load on a particular server becomes too high, additional servers in the cluster can be used to help distribute the load.

A cluster-enabled QlikView Server licence is necessary for all clustering. The load sharing of documents across many workstations is supported by QlikView Server. Real-time sharing, server object data, automated document loading, and user licence CALs are all included in this sharing. Multiple server instances can share the same licence number thanks to special licensing options.

All document and support files must be exchanged amongst the servers in order to use load sharing between different QVSs. In other words, the files should be physically located in the same place on all servers. To store data for load sharing, QVS creates and maintains additional files. These files can be found in the “Data” folder and have the file extension “Persistent Group Object” (.pgo). Whenever QVS is active, these files are locked.

QlikView Server Load Sharing can be particularly useful for organizations that have a large number of users accessing QlikView documents simultaneously, or for organizations that need to handle large volumes of data. By using multiple servers to distribute the load, organizations can improve the performance and scalability of their QlikView Server environment, and ensure that users have a smooth and efficient experience when accessing QlikView documents.
