What is Self Esteem?
Self-esteem is the way that you feel about yourself and your abilities. It is a measure of your own worth and value as a person, and it influences how you think, feel, and behave. People who have high self-esteem are typically more outspoken and self-assured, and they are also more inclined to take on new tasks and work toward their objectives. On the other side, those who lack self-esteem may be more prone to self-doubt and negative thinking, and they may avoid taking chances or attempting new things.
Self-esteem can be influenced by a wide range of elements, such as upbringing, prior events, and character traits. It is important to cultivate a healthy sense of self-esteem in order to feel good about yourself and lead a fulfilling life. This can involve learning to accept and appreciate your strengths and weaknesses, setting and working towards achievable goals, and surrounding yourself with supportive and positive people.
Our capacity to deal with difficulty and life’s setbacks is badly impacted by low self-esteem. All of our relationships, even the ones we have with ourselves, are impacted. When our self-esteem is low, we experience insecurity, judge and doubt ourselves, and compare ourselves to other people. We fail to value ourselves, honour our needs, and articulate our desires. Instead, we may compromise our needs, submit to others, or try to influence how they feel about us in order to feel better about ourselves.
