How to Link Voter ID with Aadhaar?

The Election commission of India (ECI) has announced its decision to mandatorily link Voter ID with Aadhaar to keep pace with The Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2021, which the Indian parliament adopted.

There are several ways to link your voter ID card with your Aadhaar card:

Online website: You can visit the National Voter Services Portal (NVSP) at https://www.nvsp.in/ and click on the “Link your Aadhaar number” link under the “Online Services” section. You will need to enter your voter ID number, name, and date of birth and verify your identity using your Aadhaar card.

Online App: You may also use the Voter Helpline App to link the Id proofs. It is a simple app sponsored by the Election commission and the government of India and is readily available on the play store and app store.

SMS: You can also send an SMS from your registered mobile number to integrate your voter ID with your Aadhaar card. To do this, send an SMS in the following format to 166 or 51969: “ECILINK <EPIC_Number> <Aadhaar_Number>.”

Voter Registration Centers: You can visit a voter registration centre in your area and provide your voter ID and Aadhaar card to the officials who have them linked.

Electoral Office: You can also visit the electoral office in your area and provide your voter ID and Aadhaar card to the officials who have them linked.

It is important to note that you must provide a genuine copy of your voter ID and Aadhaar card while linking them together. You should also check with the electoral office in your area to see if there are any additional requirements or documents that you need to provide.
